Welcome to the New American Youth Ballet! NAYB offers classical
ballet training to young dancers in the counties of Northeast Indiana.
Founded in 2004, NAYB is a
member of the Mid-States
Regional Ballet Association and
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization. Our Community
Classes provide instruction to
children, teens and adults in
convenient 10 week class
sessions. Our Training Program
is an audition-only option for
dancers interested in a rigorous
pre-professional training
schedule and increased
performance opportunities.
Both our Community Classes
and our Training Program
follow our exclusive, technically
demanding and carefully
organized classical ballet syllabus.
The syllabus is based primarily
on the Balanchine aesthetic but
also incorporates elements from
the Vaganova, Bournonville and
R.A.D. methods. Our syllabus
develops dancers who possess
the precise technique, speed and
musicality characteristic of
Balanchine style training while
also maintaining a pure classical
line and artistic sensibility.
As a compliment to our
outstanding ballet training, we
offer our upper level Training
Program students an on-site
college preparatory school, the
New American Conservatory.
The Conservatory serves grades
5-12 in our beautiful academic
wing, taught by four dedicated
academic teachers. The
Conservatory schedules an
accelerated academic curriculum
around the unique needs of our
dancers.
