Our History...
The New American Youth Ballet was founded in 2004.  In 2005 it was incorporated as a
non-profit organization, adding an on-site academic Conservatory for pre-professional
dancers.  In March 2006 the New American Youth
Ballet moved into a brand new facility specifically
designed to meet their unique needs.  As we move
into our eighth year of operation the New American
Youth Ballet educates over 100 students, supports
13 faculty and staff members, presents 2 annual
stage productions, over 35 annual community
performances and is developing a Nutcracker
production to premiere in 2012!

We support a diverse repertory...
The New American Youth Ballet believes in seeking
performance repertory that will strengthen and
develop our young dancers.  NAYB has recently had
the distinct privilege of receiving permission to
perform Peter Martin's "Eight Easy Pieces" and the
first movement of George Balanchine's  "Serenade".
Each season we stage works from the classical ballet
cannon, present an original children's story ballet, and
commission new works from contemporary ballet choreographers.  To date NAYB
student's have worked with such notable choreographers as Jimmy Orrante,
Christopher Fleming, Melinda Howe, Sharon Lancaster, Gabriel Forrestri, Maribeth
Maxa and Justin Gibbs.  Our classical and children's ballet repertory has included
full-length productions and excerpts of The Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, Markitenka Pas de
Six, Les Sylphides Pas de Quatre, Le Corsaire, Giselle, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Snow
White, Peter and the Wolf, Carnival of the Animals and The Sorcerers Apprentice.

was prvileged to receive the "National Choreography

We are successful at the Youth America Grand Prix...
The New American Youth Ballet participated in the Youth Amerca Grand Prix competition
from 2005 to 2010.  During six years we had fourteen regional "Top 12" finalists, two
regional first place medals, a regional third place medal, and received the "Outstanding
Teacher" and "Outstanding Choreographer" awards.  In addition, we had students
qualify for the New York finals every year and had numerous students offered
acceptances and scholarships into summer intensives and year-round programs as a
result of their YAGP experience.
